Lusy Barnes, beloved pet of Stephanie Barnes, a beautiful Mountain Cur dog that was born to me, December 19, 2010, and left me September 3, 2026.

She was a couple of months older when she was unexpectedly my baby on this date. I didn’t want a dog, knowing the loss is a heartbreaker, but one twist of her head and the look in her eyes crawling into my lap. I could not deny this sweet pup.

It is no denial this gift from Jodi and Lauren Blevins would become my dearest and best friend. Every day she won my loyalty and love. Having a companion in life felt no longer lonely. It became joyful. She would lay her head in my lap in times of my sorrow, feeling my pain. Hugging her sweetness and loving me I could survive my worst moments.

The saddest, most tragic moments after she turned 16 years old is to see her aging with pain and suffering broke my heart. Taking her to the vet in volumes of tears I felt like a traitor to her devoted love, yet I couldn’t stand her pain any longer. She will be forever in my heart and a shadow by my bed at night.
